Art Party Painting Classes: 4th Thursday of Every Month
PLUS: Art Party Summer Camp for kids ages 7-12. July 25 – 29.
Art Party brings the Art to you. Our local artist/owner Toni will walk the group through painting their very own canvas, with easy to follow instruction. She will give you all the tools you need to create your canvas. No prior painting experience necessary. After a couple hours of laughter, and fun, you leave with a keepsake, your very own work of art to display. With artist, Randi Chalfin, a graduate of Teachers College at Columbia University, artist and art educator, certified as a creative art therapist Adelphi University and certified sand play creative art therapist.

Dutchess County’s Southern Dutchess Coalition is a partnership of agencies, businesses and schools working together to reduce risk factors among youth in the southern section of the Dutchess County.   Our Mission is to support community prevention efforts by identifying and reducing risky behaviors surrounding substance use, misuse, abuse and underage drinking. As part of the Southern Dutchess Coalition, The Education and Art committee, brings art and education workshops to the Southern Dutchess Community, bringing awareness to the issues of substance use, and at the same time, providing youth with opportunities to participate in pro – social activities.  It is the vision and hope of the Art and Education Committee to have a place where youth could come to enjoy art, identify their strengths, have positive peer interactions and see themselves as a valued part of their community.

Rhythm Works Integrative Dance Class: Saturdays 10:30AM. Starts May 7

A hip hop dance program for kids with Autism, Down syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder & other individual learning differences and physical challenges. Dance classes are specifically designed to help support your child’s existing therapy goals! Duet Music Therapy Services – Ashley E. Barton, MT-BC offering therapy services for children PreK-12

Ashley Barton was born and raised here in Wappinger Falls, NY. After graduating from RCK, she moved to Rochester to attend Nazareth College and received her Bachelor of Music Therapy degree in 2005. She then completed her internship at Finger Lakes DDSO, working with young adults and adults with Developmental Disabilities. She received her credentials soon after and became a board certified- music therapist. She began working at Integrated Therapy Services in 2006 seeing children with special needs in local school districts. The music therapy department became its own separate entity and Music Therapy Pathways was her home until she returned back to the Hudson Valley this past August. Ashley Barton is married with two children and created Duet Music Therapy Services to be a mom and a therapist.

Music Therapy is using music interventions to reach non-musical goals. It can be used to work towards a variety of goals such increased communication/speech skills, improve self-expression, increase physical wellness and more. Many populations can benefit from music therapy including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly with mental health needs, developmental and learning disabilities and acute and chronic pain.

Duet Music Therapy Services will be offering therapy services for children PreK-12. Once a referral is made, an assessment will be performed to see if music therapy would be an appropriate service for the child. An assessment consists of 2 half hour sessions and includes the assessment report along with treatment plan, if the service is recommended. Therapy can be provided in 30 minute or 60 minute increments and will be decided upon assessment. 30 minute- $50 | 60 minute- $90 | Assessment (2 half hour sessions and treatment plan) – $115. Contact: Ashley E. Independent Artists Studio brings many creative dance classes to RVAC! Along with private dance sessions, various group classes are offered. First up: High school aged actors & singers are invited to join us for this beginner movement class. You will receive an introduction to ballet, tap, and musical theater jazz. College Preparation and Audition Intensive TBD

This will be a class dedicated to choosing and preparing songs for your college auditions. You will be led through the college audition process, from choosing appropriate songs to cutting and preparing your material. New songs will be introduced to your book, and each student will sing every week in front of the class. This program will end with a mock audition in NYC in front of guests who will watch your audition and evaluate it.


Broadway Boot Camp & Theatre Intensive Summer Camps! July 11 – 15 | July 18 – August 6

JPAC Performing Arts has been a leading performance arts camp in Dutchess County for over 20 years. Each summer, they stage a production of a popular show with their camp attendees. Intro to Knitting with Lorraine. First session: March 15, 22, 29
This class is designed for the brand-new knitter, or someone who has tried to learn before but didn’t quite get the hang of it.  We’ll go through the foundational stitches of knitting (knit and purl!), the different types of knitting needles, construction techniques, and learn all about yarn. Students will complete a hat by the end of week three and be on their way to a fun and fulfilling hobby!  Students will be provided with straight needles, a seaming needle, and yarn to learn on but must provide their own worsted weight yarn (approx. 120 yards/3oz) for the hat. 845-546-1838 | Email


Monthly Mindfulness Workshops: 3rd Sunday of Each Month
Vision Board Workshop Friday May 13, 2022
Participants will start and end the workshop with a short guided meditation. Other activities include learning some of the fundamentals of the practice of mindfulness, making relaxation calming tools, learning easy and basic stretches and chair yoga, specialized relaxation coloring, books about mindfulness, making vision boards, learning about positive affirmations, breathing techniques, gratefulness exercises, self-care skills, journal writing, and more.
